The following are designed to stretch the muscles at the back of your lower leg.

How to Perform a Calf Stretch

Technique 1

  1. Stand with toes pointing straight forward.
  2. Step one leg out in front – make sure your toes are still pointing forward.
  3. Keeping your back knee straight and back heel on the floor, bend your front knee.
  4. You should feel a stretch on the back of your calf.
  5. Hold this position for 20-30 seconds.
  6. Repeat on the opposite side.

Technique 2

  1. Stand on top of a step on the balls of your feet on the edge.
  2. Please ensure you have a rail or wall to support yourself.
  3. Drop one heel down below the edge by slightly bending the knee of the other leg.
  4. Hold this position for 20-30 seconds.
  5. Repeat on the opposite side.
