Upper Pectoral Instructions:
- Stand in front of a doorway
- Bend your elbows and place the inside of your forearm against the door frame.
- Slowly step forwards until you feel a stretch in the front of your shoulder or chest
- Hold for 30-60 seconds
Lower pectoral Instructions:
- Stand in front of a doorway
- Raise your arms to approximately 45 degrees and rest your hands against the doorframe
- Keep your arms straight and slowly step forwards until you feel a stretch in the front of your shoulder or chest
- Hold for 30-60 seconds
Precautions
- Try to avoid elevating your shoulder or losing contact with the doorframe.
- The sensation should be a strong stretch, not pain.
- If you experience pain do a smaller step forwards into doorway.
- If you continue to experience pain, speak to your physiotherapist
