Instructions

  • Place the inside of the affected arm on the door frame.
  • The elbow is bent and the hand is flat on the wall.
  • Slowly and gently lunge forward, keeping the arm in the starting position, until you begin to feel a stretch.
  • Draw the chest bone forward and away from the arm against the wall.
  • Hold for 30 seconds (or as prescribed by your physiotherapist).

Precautions

Try to avoid the following:

  • Elevating the shoulder to the ear
  • Losing contact between the elbow and the wall
  • Pushing forward with the shoulder
