  • Stand tall at the bottom of the staircase with your feet hip-width apart, shoulders relaxed.
  • Engage your core and look straight ahead—not down at your feet.
  • Step up with your lead leg, placing your whole foot flat on the step. Press through your heel as you rise.
  • As you bring the trailing leg up, ensure it follows smoothly and lands fully on the step without dragging.
  • Continue up the stairs at a steady, controlled pace, using a handrail if needed for balance.
  • Keep your torso upright and avoid excessive leaning forward.
  • Complete repetitions as prescribed by your physiotherapist.
