Knee flexion in the prone position is a targeted movement that strengthens the hamstrings and supports knee joint mobility. Performed lying face down, it engages the muscles at the back of the thigh while promoting smoother, more controlled bending of the knee. This exercise is frequently used in rehabilitation to restore function after injury, reduce stiffness, and improve overall lower-limb coordination.

  • Come into a lying position on your stomach.
  • Support the forehead with the back of the hands.
  • Flex the foot.
  • Keeping the thigh in contact with the ground, bring the heel towards the bottom to bend at the knee.
  • Slowly lower back to the start position and repeat as per Physiotherapist’s guidelines.
