  • Stand with your feet approximately shoulder-width apart, with a bench positioned directly behind you.
  • Hold a barbell across the upper back and shoulders, ensuring it is securely supported and your chest remains upright.
  • Brace your abdominal muscles and maintain a neutral spine throughout the movement.
  • Begin the squat by pushing your hips back and bending your knees at the same time.
  • Lower your body in a controlled manner until your buttocks lightly touch the bench.
  • Avoid fully relaxing or sitting down on the bench.
  • Drive through your heels and straighten your hips and knees to return to the starting position.
  • Keep your knees aligned with your toes throughout the movement.
  • Complete repetitions as prescribed by your physiotherapist.
