  • Attach a handle to the cable machine and position the pulley at approximately chest height.
  • Stand side on to the cable machine and hold the handle with both hands.
  • Step away from the machine until there is light tension on the cable.
  • Hinge forwards at your hips until your trunk is approximately 45 degrees to the floor, keeping your back straight and your knees slightly bent.
  • Engage your core and maintain a neutral spine throughout the exercise.
  • Begin with your arms extended towards the cable machine.
  • Pull the handle diagonally across your body towards the opposite hip while rotating through your trunk and shoulders.
  • Keep the movement controlled and allow your hips to rotate naturally while maintaining the bent over position.
  • Slowly return to the starting position, resisting the pull of the cable.
  • Maintain your hip hinge and avoid rounding your back throughout the exercise.
  • Complete repetitions as prescribed by your physiotherapist.
