- Attach an ankle strap to the cable and secure it around the ankle of the working leg.
- Stand facing the cable machine and hold onto the frame or handles for balance.
- Step back slightly to create light tension in the cable.
- Stand tall with a slight bend in your supporting knee and brace your abdominal muscles.
- Keeping your knee slightly bent, extend your working leg straight backwards from the hip.
- Squeeze your buttock at the end of the movement without arching your lower back.
- Slowly return your leg to the starting position with control.
- Keep your trunk upright and minimise movement through your pelvis throughout the exercise.
- Complete repetitions as prescribed by your physiotherapist.
