  • Stand in the centre of a cable machine with the pulleys set slightly above shoulder height.
  • Grasp a handle in each hand and step forward into a split stance for balance.
  • Begin with your arms out to the sides and a slight bend in your elbows.
  • Brace your abdominal muscles and keep your chest lifted throughout the movement.
  • Bring your arms forwards in a wide arc until your hands meet in front of your chest.
  • Squeeze your chest muscles briefly at the end of the movement without allowing the shoulders to round forwards.
  • Slowly return to the starting position with control, maintaining the slight bend in your elbows.
  • Keep your trunk stable and avoid leaning or using momentum.
  • Complete repetitions as prescribed by your physiotherapist.
