The calf stretch lengthens the muscles at the back of the lower leg, helping to reduce tightness and improve ankle flexibility. Regular stretching of the calves can make walking, running, and climbing stairs more comfortable while also lowering the risk of strain. It’s a simple yet effective way to keep the lower legs moving well.

  • Sit on the ground or on your bed with your legs out straight in front of you.
  • Loop a towel or belt over the top end of your foot.
  • Keep your leg straight.
  • Gently pull on the ends on the towel/ belt to pull your ankle back.
  • Hold for 30-60 seconds or as advised by your Physiotherapist.
