The Reformer feet in straps abduction/opening exercise is a hip strengthening exercise that targets the gluteal muscles, inner thighs, and deep core stabilisers.
It focuses on controlled movement of the legs outward against the resistance of the straps while maintaining pelvic stability.
This exercise is commonly prescribed to improve hip control, pelvic alignment, and lower limb stability while encouraging coordinated movement through the hips.
Lie on your back on the Reformer carriage with your head supported and arms relaxed by your sides.
Place both feet securely into the straps with the knees straight and legs extended down towards the foot bar.
Slowly open the legs outward to a comfortable range while maintaining even tension through both straps.
Gently draw the legs back together with control, keeping your legs straight.
Engage your abdominal muscles to maintain a neutral pelvis and stable pelvis throughout the exercise.
Complete repetitions as prescribed by your physiotherapist.
