Gaze stability exercises are important to reduce dizziness, vertigo, visual blurring by training the vestibular-occular reflex (VOR)
These exercises help the brain and eyes keep a clear, focused vision on stationary objects while moving the head. This is what we do when we are waling or driving.
  • In a sitting position, hold onto a target in each hand (this can be a written letter, number, shape)
  • Turn your head and focus on the target then quickly turn your head and focus on the other target
  • Dizziness is normal but should be tollerable
  • This exercise can be done in sitting, standing and walking as well
  • Make sure you do the exercises prescribed by your physiotherapist in a safe environment
  • Please repeat as per your physiotherapist guidelines
