The heel raise on a step is a simple yet effective exercise to strengthen the calf muscles and improve ankle mobility. Lowering the heels below step level allows a greater stretch, helping with balance, walking efficiency, and daily activities. It’s commonly used in rehab for foot and ankle issues, falls prevention, and general lower limb conditioning.

  • Stand on a step with your heels off the edge.
  • Slowly lift your heels up.
  • Slowly lower your heels down, going lower than the step.
  • Repeat this as many times as your Physiotherapist has prescribed.
