- Stand facing away from a bench and lean your buttocks lightly against the edge for support.
- Shift your weight onto your standing leg and gently brace your abdominal muscles.
- Keep your trunk upright with your shoulders relaxed and your pelvis level.
- Keeping your knee straight, slowly move the affected leg backwards by extending your hip.
- Lift your leg only as far as you can without arching your lower back or rotating your pelvis.
- Pause briefly at the end of the movement while maintaining good control.
- Slowly return your leg to the starting position.
- Complete repetitions as prescribed by your physiotherapist.
