The inner range quads exercise strengthens the quadriceps in a shortened position, helping to improve knee stability and function. Often performed with a towel or foam roller under the knee, it’s ideal for early-stage rehab, post-surgery recovery, and regaining strength after injury. This exercise supports everyday activities like walking, standing, and stair climbing.
- Sit in long sitting.
- Place a rolled up towel under your affected knee/leg.
- Draw your toes up towards your head.
- Press the knee into the towel and start to lift your heel off the floor/bed.
- Hold for a count of 3.
- Repeat as instructed by your physiotherapist.
