  • The isometric hamstring bridge is a strengthening exercise that targets the hamstring muscles at the back of the thigh, while also engaging the gluteal muscles and core.
  • It is commonly prescribed to improve hamstring strength and endurance, assist with rehabilitation following hamstring injuries, and enhance lower limb stability.
  • Lie on your back with your knees bent to approximately 20 to 30 degrees and your heels resting on the floor or an elevated surface as directed by your physiotherapist.
  • Position your arms by your sides and gently engage your abdominal muscles.
  • Press your heels firmly into the surface and hold.
  • Breathe normally and avoid holding your breath.
  • Hold as prescribed by your physiotherapist.
