  • Set up the pulley system securely overhead, with a handle in each hand.
  • Sit facing the pulley anchor point.
  • Keep your affected arm relaxed and allow the unaffected arm to do the work.
  • Gently pull down with your unaffected arm, allowing the affected arm to rise in front of you as comfort allows.
  • Keep your trunk upright and avoid leaning back or twisting—focus on a pure shoulder movement.
  • Pause briefly at the top of the movement before slowly lowering your affected arm back to the start.
  • Complete repetitions as prescribed by your physiotherapist.
