Seated isometric ankle DF

  • Sit upright on a chair with both feet flat on the floor.
  • Place the heel of your unaffected foot firmly over the top of the affected foot.
  • Keep the affected foot flat on the floor in a plantargrade position.
  • Attempt to lift the front of the affected foot upwards into dorsiflexion while the top foot prevents any movement.
  • Maintain steady pressure through both feet without allowing the ankle to move.
  • Keep your heel in contact with the floor throughout the exercise.
  • Breathe normally and avoid tensing the upper body.
  • Hold as prescribed by your physiotherapist.
