- Sit upright at a table with your feet supported on the floor.
- Slightly bend your elbow and place your forearm or hand underneath the edge of the table.
- Gently attempt to lift your arm forwards and upwards into the table, as though beginning a shoulder flexion movement.
- The table should prevent your arm from moving, creating an isometric contraction.
- Keep your body upright and maintain steady pressure without shrugging your shoulder or leaning forwards.
- Hold/maintain as prescribed by your physiotherapist.
