The straight arm shoulder extension row targets the muscles of the upper back, shoulders, and arms – particularly the latissimus dorsi and posterior deltoids – while also engaging the core for stability. By keeping the arms straight throughout the movement, it isolates the shoulder extension action, improving posture, pulling strength, and shoulder stability. This exercise is useful in both rehabilitation and strength training programs.

  • Standing in an upright posture clasp the ends of the theraband.
  • Maintaining straight elbows, draw the arms back by your side body.
  • As you reach the final degrees of the movement squeeze the shoulder blades together.
  • Slowly control the return of the movement to the starting position.
  • Repeat as per Physiotherapist guidelines.
