Wall crawls using both arms are commonly prescribed to improve shoulder mobility, overhead range of motion, and confidence with reaching tasks. This exercise gently encourages shoulder flexion while using the wall for support, making it useful during rehabilitation for shoulder stiffness, weakness, or postural control.

  • Stand facing a wall, about arm’s length away.
  • Place both hands on the wall at shoulder height, with your fingers pointing upwards.
  • Gently “walk” your fingers up the wall, allowing both arms to move evenly.
  • Move only as far as comfortable, without forcing into pain.
  • When you reach as high as you can, gently let your chest sink towards the wall.
  • Hold the stretch briefly, before allowing your chest to come back.
  • Slowly walk your fingers back down the wall.
  • Complete repetitions as prescribed by your physiotherapist.
