  • Come to a seated position with your affect wrist over the edge of a bench, with thumb facing upwards
  • Place your opposite hand on top of your thumb
  • From this position, slowly apply pressure against the thumb pushing it downwards
  • Your wrist will resist the force applied so it does not move (isometric contraction)
  • Once you have reached the prescribed amount of time, remove the pressure
  • Repeat as per physiotherapist guidelines
